Andrew Evans

Dr Andy Evans is a Senior Lecturer in GeoComputation and GIS in the Centre for Applied Spatial Analysis and Policy at the University of Leeds. His research interests centre around the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and computer modelling to solve geographical problems, including problems from fields as diverse as socio-economics (crime prevention, for example), physical geography (modelling glacial retreat, for example), and folklore. He has been a lecturer in Leeds since 1999, during which time he has taught courses on programming, AI, and spatial analysis to a wide variety of residential and distance-learning students. His current research interests include error propagation in models of complex systems, and the ethics of predictive modelling.
